About Us

Our trips are conducted all year round, during the school half term, holidays or during the academic year. We venture out of the UK to many parts of the world including South Africa , Brazil , Maldives , Iceland , Canada and many European countries. We are continually expanding into new disciplines of study and research, enabling us to provide our students with a unique educational destination, fit successfully to lessons linked to the programme required.

Oct 2011

Outdoor Adventure Sports –  Mon 24 to Fri 28th Oct – Half term

Try a range of outdoor sports including kayaking, climbing, raft building, archery, abseiling, caving and orienteering with qualified instructors at an outdoor activity centre in Shropshire, 3 hours from London.

UK

Ancient Egypt – Sat 22nd to Sat 29th Oct  - Half Term

Visit the famous sights of Egypt; the Pyramids and sphinx at Giza, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Whilst cruising down the Nile, experience the influence of this river on people’s lives and visit a Nubian village and school.  Activities include a camel ride, shopping in the many markets and hot air ballooning (optional).

Curriculum links:

MYP: History (recommended for MYP1 studying Ancient History), Geography (recommended for MYP5 studying river systems), Arabic. PYP Transdisciplinary theme: Where we are in place in time, Sharing the planet.

Egypt

Dec 2011

Cern, Switzerland – Fri 9th  to Sun 11th Dec

A unique opportunity to visit to the European Organisation for Nuclear Research to learn more about the World famous Hadron Collider and particle physics. A visit will also be made to The Globe of science and Innovation on the CERN site.

Curriculum Links:

MYP: Science, this trip is required learning for Diploma students studying nuclear physics and recommended for MYP5 and MYP4 students to support the Physics curriculum.

Switzerland

Feb 2012

Winter Sports – Sun 12th  to Sat 18th  Feb  – Half term.

Skiing or snowboarding, cross country, indoor rock climbing, ice-skating, sledging, swimming. Engelberg is a small and picturesque town offering a fantastic Swiss experience for all.

Switzerland

March 2012

Amsterdam – English Literature and WW2 History– Fri 23rd – Sun 25th March.

Students will learn more about people’s experiences during World War two by visiting Anne Frank’s House and Camp Westerbork.

MYP: English and History, most suitable for MYP4 students studying WW2 and studying Anne Franks Diary.

The Netherlands

April 2012

Adventure Sports:
A  PGL Centre on the Dorset coast – Mon 9th  – Fri 13th April

This centre is based on the beautiful Dorset Coast in the South of England with its own private beach. Activities during the week will include sailing, kayaking, mountain boarding, quad bikes, high ropes and a giant swing.

UK

Expedition in Ghana– 10 days in the April Spring Holiday (dates TBC)

Students will challenge themselves and have the opportunity to learn new skills on this once in a life time trip. Students will explore the tropical Rainforest and beaches of Kakum National Park whilst working on a community project with a host village. This expedition is organised and fully supported by World Challenge. Students will have the opportunity to fund raise for this trip.

Curriculum links:

MYP: Suitable for MYP4, 5 and Diploma students.  This trip contributes to the CAS component of the diploma programme and the community and service required by the MYP programme.

Ghana

May 2011

Spanish Language and Culture– Madrid – Fri 1st – Mon 4th June.

Spanish lessons in the morning will combine with opportunities to practise the language and improving confidence whilst sightseeing and conversing with locals. Visit options include Bernabeu Stadium (home to Real Madrid) and the Reina Sofia Art Museum (Spanish art from the 20th Century).

Spain

June 2011

Beijing, China – Mandarin and Chinese culture – 24th  June – 30th June (summer holidays)

Lessons in Mandarin are supported by cultural visits to Tiananmen Square and the Summer palace and an excursion to the Great Wall of China and Ming Tombs. Other visits include the Forbidden City, Beijing Capital Museum and the Olympic Park.
